Die stamping is the traditional and most popular method used to make lapel pins. The pin is stamped out of metal with great pressure, producing raised and recessed metal features. Colored enamels, opaque or translucent, are applied to the recessed parts.
DIE STAMPED SOFT ENAMEL
The raised metal lines remain higher than the enamel. The enamel is not "soft" on the finished pin. These pins are both economical and durable.

DIE STAMPED, HARD ENAMEL
Thick enamel is polished flush with the raised metal areas of the design. This gives a rich, fine-jewelry appearance.
